Wednesday, July 4. 2007Portable VNC v1.2.6 (keyboard enhancement)Hi All, Here is a new release of Portable VNC for Custom FW 3.x-OE and FW 1.5 For those for haven't seen previous versions, VNC let you access to your PC desktop from anywhere using a wifi connection. What's new in version 1.2.6 : + Add new useful keys to the danzeff keyboard such as Win, Alt-tab, etc ... + All keys of the virtual keyboard are now really working ! (many keys were not usable in the previous version) + Support more keys with the IR-keyboard The IR keyboard support is based on the work of Harald Fielker (author of the PSP IR Keyboard Library), and the Virtual keyboard is based on the Danzel code. PSPVNC has been written by NHD from TeamXos, and it's based on the PalmOS VNC client. It is distributed under GNU licence, and sources are provided : pspvnc-v1.2.6-src.zip The IR keyboard part it has been tested using a Targus Universal IR Wireless keyboard. pspvnc-v1.2.6-fw3x.zip pspvnc-v1.2.6-fw15.zip Enjoy, Zx. If you want to discuss on this emulator, you can do it there : zx81's forum on dcemu network or zx81's forum on qj.net Trackbacks

why don't you make it work fullscreen? or resize to fit the psp screen?
Hi, I have a PalmOne Universal Wireless keyboard. The soft runs well on my PSP but I have to constantly press some key on the keyboard to the soft to continue running, otherwise it just keep frozen. I have the same issue on your SSH client also. I know it may be an issue with the ir keyboard libriary and not exactly your software but I would like to know if you are aware of this or know any possible solution. Thanks and sorry about my english.
No prob. Is the source of this library included on the source of the PSP VNC or it's a binary accesed library? I'm a programmer and would like to check out about. Thanks for the fast answer.
See you and congratulations again on your work. Hey,
great job zx-81!! I went through your notes and the readme's but i havent been able to get the CAD key map to work. Any help ? thanks ohhh... I thought it was CTRL+ALT+DEL for Windows. Thats what I really wanted to use it for as the system I try to access are locked when i connect.
Hi,
I've tried to put Ctrl-Alt-Del hotkey in the danzeff keyboard, but without success. With TightVNC on windows 2000, when you press Ctrl-Alt-Del it disconnect any running clients, so it's pretty useless ! Btw, you can configure windows to disable the Ctrl-Alt-Del security stuff in the login screen . That's what i suggest you to do. Zx Hello,
Thanks for releasing this - I should find it quite useful. A couple of comments/questions (re: 1.2.6 fw 3x): In order to get host configuration saving/loading to work, I had to manually create the pspvnc/hosts directory. I didn't notice this requirement anywhere in the texts included in the release; I had to read the source to figure out why I couldn't save or connect to a host. It seems that SaveHost() could be made to check if this directory exists, and create it if not. I had this problem under both 3.10OE and 3.40OE, but noone else seemed to experience it. Perhaps the installation instructions should instruct the user to create the 'hosts' directory? Also, is DNS name lookup supposed to work? a cursory glance at the source suggests it should work (via resolv_name() in psp_util.c) but I can't connect to any hosts I configure using hostname instead of IP address. I tried a protocol analyser/sniffer, and the app doesn't even send any packets for DNS lookup. But the configuration screen calls this setting "hostname," so I get the impression that DNS lookup is intended to function. Is this a known issue or is the problem related to my particular setup? Overall, this is a rockin' piece of software. Keep up the good work. Thanks, -meursalt Hi !
First of all, thanks for your comment and feedback. About the hosts directory issue, it's due to your unzipper software, that doesn't create empty directory . Using winrar or under linux i have never encountered such a problem. Generally i put a foo.txt file in empty directories to overcome this issue. About the DNS stuff, i've tested myself on my network, and it was working fine, may be DNS server parameters are not properly set ? or you use a static IP configuration ? Have you tried using DHCP instead ? Take care, zx Really useful app!
Thank you for your hard work...i just tried it and i can say that it is great! Keep up the good word. Two questions.... 1)After a couple of minutes the mouse cursor lags a lot and as the time passes its even worse...same goes for windows i open..The movement in my pc screen goes according to my directions but it lags a lot in the psp screen.I use tightVNC as a server and a router with 100mbit/sec of speed.Do i need some certain configurations to be made or is it just the program that lags? 2)Can i access my pc while it runs the server from an other hotspot...like a public library for example? Thank you again for the great app! First of all, thanks for your comment .
I'm not the author of this great apps, my contribution is minor, basically i've added the danzeff keyboard, and modify a bit the network stuff. All thanks should go first to original authors. For the point (1) i guess the app lags. For the point (2) the answer is yes, if you configure your router properly (port redirection / IP forwarding etc ...) Regards, Zx i have tryed this but how do you get it to work is there some program you have to run on your computer and this is my first time trying to use it
